LONDON, England: Stars spanning the worlds of sport, fashion, design and music have been invited to help get ready for the launch of Mickey's Magical Party at Disneyland Resort Paris by creating individual customised 'My Mickey Ears'. Mickey's Magical Party is a year-long celebration, taking place between 4th April 2009 and March 2010, and promises to offer guests of all ages interactive entertainment and new experiences.
Disneyland Resort Paris invited celebrities from the UK, France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany to take part. Geri Halliwell, Estelle, Daisy Lowe, Isabella Rossellini and Amir Khan and are just a handful of the stars who have taken the iconic Mickey ears and put their own personal twist on them. Each pair is a unique one-off creation and reflects the personality of its designer.
Says Estelle "I had too much fun designing my Mickey ears as part of Mickey's Magical Party! They're individual, glamorous and have a touch of attitude... Just like me!"
The collection of 'My Mickey Ears' will be unveiled to the media at the official premiere of Mickey's Magical Party, taking place on 28th March 2009, at Disneyland Resort Paris. The ears will then be taken to their respective countries for an exhibition and auction to benefit local charities.
In the UK, the 'My Mickey Ears' collection will be auctioned online at buy once give twice with proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. This activity supports The Walt Disney Company's ongoing commitment to the hospital's redevelopment.
Geri Halliwell adds, "Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the most amazing places I've been too, its more than a regular hospital, it has a wonderful energy and it's so full of love. I loved making the Mickey ears with my daughter. It was a great excuse to get messy. We believe we've created the finest pair of ears on the planet!"
